Sónar+D, a prominent digital culture and creative technology gathering within the Sónar festival, was in search of an innovative electronic installation. The commission was to create an installation that explored the connection between the body and the mind, focusing on the impact of artificial intelligence on the arts.
The result was a interactive installation that allowed people to explore the connection between their bodies and art. A statistical study was conducted on people's sensations when touching different parts of their bodies. These parameters were then translated into a graphic and auditory experience using creative coding with tools like Processing. With the use of a Kinect, when people touched different parts of their bodies, generated graphics were projected and adapted in real-time. This created a unique visual and auditory language in which the body could communicate through art.
The installation relied on a variety of techniques, including the use of a Kinect to track body movement, creative coding with tools like Processing, and videomapping. Additionally, Max MSP was used to control sound and music parameters.
